Senior Housing Officer / Housing Options Team Leader with experience of supervising a team in either a local authority or housing organisation, good management and leadership skills and an in-depth knowledge of Government Legislation and statutory procedures is required to join a Housing Options, Homeless and Resettlement Team based in Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands.

This role is known within the organisation as a Senior Housing Options Officer.

 

SALARY: £37,336 - £40,221 per annum + £2,000 Market Supplement + Benefits

LOCATION: Oakham, Rutland, East Midlands (LE15)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per Week (flexible/agile working)

 

Please note: The post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check (cost will be paid for by the organisation) a full driving licence will be required to enable the postholder to travel around the county.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Housing Officer / Housing Options Team Leader with experience of supervising a team in either a local authority or housing organisation, good management and leadership skills and an in-depth knowledge of Government Legislation and statutory procedures.

Working as a Senior Housing Officer / Housing Options Team Leader you will support the delivery of the Housing, Homelessness and Resettlement Strategies, ensuring that good quality information is provided to the public and community partners.

As a Senior Housing Officer / Housing Options Team Leader you will supervise staff within the team and work alongside the wider organisation to ensure the successful delivery of all relevant Strategies, in particular Adults and Childrens social care.

The key areas of work will be providing supervision and direction to Officers on difficult cases and the development of housing options policies and procedures to maximise options available to those in housing need and to ensure high quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. This will involve a great deal of liaison with statutory and voluntary organisations, partnership building and developing relationships with the private landlords or their agents.

You will support and work alongside the Team Manager in representing Housing at meetings both internally and externally along with having experience of chairing meetings.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

The Senior Housing Officer / Housing Options Team Leader will have:

  • Experience of supervising a front line Housing Options Team and delivering a quality housing options, homeless and resettlement service
  • In-depth knowledge of Government Legislation and statutory procedures
  • Experience of supervising a team in either a local authority or housing organisation
  • Experience of developing Partnership relationships and of working in a multi-disciplinary way
  • Experience of service development
  • Experience of chairing meetings

You will be:

  • Organised, creative and flexible in your approach
  • Able to effectively manage cases and assess risk
  • Good IT skills, able to keep records updated and provide regular service performance and statistics
  • Committed to developing strong working relationships internally and externally
