LOCATION: Ealing, West London (W5) – Mobile role covering South London (particularly Central and Western regions)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday
KEY REQUIREMENT: A full clean UK driving licence and access to a car is essential as the role primarily covers the South London area, particularly the central and western regions

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Surveyor with a background in property maintenance, housing management or building surveying.
As a Surveyor you will manage inspections, diagnose disrepair and damp, and ensure that homes are maintained to a high standard. You will play a key role in safeguarding the organisation’s housing assets and supporting residents through responsive and proactive repair solutions.
The Surveyor will work closely with contractors, maintenance teams and residents to deliver cost-effective outcomes, maintain compliance and enhance property performance across the South London area.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Surveyor include:
- Conduct Regular Inspections: Manage and maintain the housing portfolio through scheduled property surveys
- Diagnose Damp and Disrepair: Identify and report on damp, mould and disrepair cases, ensuring effective resolution
- Develop Maintenance Strategies: Optimise housing condition and performance through planned improvement works
- Assess Property Condition: Identify risks, maintenance needs and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate With Contractors: Work with maintenance teams to plan, schedule and oversee repair works
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain awareness of building regulations, safety standards and legislation
- Oversee Aids & Adaptations: Survey properties for adaptation requests and self-funded improvements
- Produce Technical Reports: Provide technical advice, specifications and expert witness reports where required
- Manage Costs and Budgets: Use the NHF Schedule of Rates (M3NHF) to ensure value for money and cost control
- Monitor Contractor Performance: Review KPIs, address underperformance and drive continuous improvement
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- GCSEs (A*-C) in Maths and English or equivalent
- HNC, degree or equivalent in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction or a related field is desirable
- Previous experience in housing regulations, building codes and safety standards
- Strong knowledge and diagnostics of damp and mould, including experience with disrepair cases
- Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and how they apply in housing
- Knowledge of HHSRS and relevant legislation
- Experience with NHF Schedule of Rates (M3NHF) for cost control
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce clear technical reports
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with residents and stakeholders and resolve complaints effectively
