SALARY: £22,000 - £25,000 pro rata

LOCATION: Hybrid Working. Split between home and the office in Colchester (you must be able to commute weekly to Colchester)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 6 Month Contract (with possible extension)

WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week

 

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant / Purchase Ledger Administrator with previous experience working within a finance function such as Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or Credit Control.

Working as an Accounts Payable Assistant / Purchase Ledger Administrator you will join the busy AP Team and carry out a range of administrative duties, which includes liaising with the business and suppliers regarding queries and payments.

As an Accounts Payable Assistant / Purchase Ledger Administrator you will be responsible for daily triage, processing and system entry of invoices in the Oracle payables system. This will include manual creation of invoices or bulk imports via the spreadsheet option.

DUTIES

Your duties as an Accounts Payable Assistant / Purchase Ledger Administrator will include:

  • Daily processing of departments post and general ad hoc administrative duties such as filing, photocopying and scanning
  • Daily triage, processing and system entry of invoices in the Oracle payables system. This will include manual creation of invoices or bulk imports via the spreadsheet option
  • Manage supplier and employee Oracle account registrations and profile change requests such as updating bank details and closing inactive accounts
  • Liaise with suppliers and employees to answer queries on invoices and personal expenses
  • Analyse payables invoice transactional information and run subledger accounting reports
  • Payment runs; run or assist weekly payment runs by checking invoices are logged, coded and authorised correctly
  • Escalate urgent queries and payment requests to the AP Manager
  • Statement checking and supplier account reconciliations
  • Assist with month end processes and reconciliations
  • Interact with other finance teams, as necessary

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a finance function like Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or Credit Control
  • AAT pass or studier
  • At least 6 GCSE grades or equivalent at C and above including Maths and English
  • Experience within an office environment
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Oracle knowledge desirable
  • Good numerical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised with strong attention to detail
  • Customer focused, team player
