Lloyd’s is seeking to recruit a Transformation Communications Manager on a 12 Month FTC (Fixed Term Contract), working primarily on the Blueprint Two programme, but also on other opportunities across the corporation as and when they arise.

The Transformation Communications Manager reports to the Transformation Senior Communications Lead and is responsible for translating programme and workstream content into a compelling narrative with key messages and content delivered through appropriate channels, promoting positive engagement, advocacy and adoption within the Corporation, Lloyd’s market and with customers.

The Corporate Affairs function exists to bring the Lloyd’s brand to life and communicate Lloyd’s strategy, vision and viewpoints to an extensive network of internal and external stakeholders. The team is responsible for promoting and protecting the Lloyd’s brand and reputation globally, through the delivery of an integrated brand, marketing and communication strategy that aligns to the Corporation’s strategy and responds effectively to emerging issues.

Blueprint Two is Lloyd’s strategy and plan to build the most advanced insurance marketplace in the world. It sets out how we are going to combine data, technology and new ways of working with our existing strengths to transform the culture we work in and everything we do – from placing risks and paying claims to attracting capital and developing new products.

The Transformation Communications team is responsible for driving market awareness and engagement with the Blueprint Two programme and ensuring consistent and co-ordinated message delivery to key audiences. The team is accountable for building and maintaining momentum for Future at Lloyd’s with regular communications, tailored by stakeholder and audience need, as well as equipping workstreams and relationship owners with content to engage the market. The team will create and execute the overall Blueprint Two communications campaign, building advocacy for the programme and maximising market adoption of its initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Transformation Senior Communications Lead to create a compelling narrative for the overall programme that engages internal and external stakeholders and drives awareness, understanding, advocacy and adoption for the programme and its deliverables
  • Support the planning process to define scope, key messages, appropriate channels and timelines of communication activity for workstreams
  • Have a detailed understanding of workstreams and the key deliverables to effectively identify and communicate benefits by audience group
  • Develop and edit communication materials for specific channels incl. newsletters, blogs, press releases, social media posts, briefing materials and similar marketing materials for Blueprint Two in accordance with the overarching campaign plan
  • Ensure timely distribution of content to the different audiences (internally and externally) and ensure all materials, including the website, are regularly refreshed to provide latest Blueprint Two content from the individual workstreams
  • Work with the workstreams, Blueprint Two campaign team and wider Corporate Affairs team to create messages and content for key market and employee events including: Blueprint updates, solution launches, show & tell sessions etc. ensuring communications are consistent and relevant
  • Develop positive relationships and collaborate with the workstreams, the programme team, change management colleagues and the wider Corporate Affairs team to ensure communications are timely, relevant and address audience needs
  • Provide best practice advice on an audience led approach to strategic communications and message creation, providing communications and copywriting support for key pieces of content that workstreams need to produce
  • Support research activities and update messages/content to incorporate feedback to ensure communications address stakeholder requirements and market sentiment
  • Set KPIs, measure and analyse communications activities feeding learnings back into the overall campaign plan and individual workstreams to ensure they are communicating effectively
  • Engage and brief Lloyd’s creative agencies to support creation of communications collateral for Blueprint Two including branding, design, and printing of content and messaging updates (i.e. blueprint, brochures etc)

 

Skills required of the Transformation Communications Manager

  • Effective communicator with the ability to communicate complexity in a way that makes it accessible
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Someone quick to build trust and relationships and can provide counsel to stakeholders with confidence and navigate through a political landscape.
  • Ability to be creative
  • Proactive resourceful with the ability to problem-solve and put forward new ideas and solutions
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail, with a proven track-record of delivering results under, respond to changing demands and reprioritise accordingly
  • Numeracy critical thinking to support budget management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and especially PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with wider team members, across departments.
  • Thorough knowledge of strategic communication principles, brand, internal and external stakeholder communications

 

Experience required of the Transformation Communications Manager

  • Communication generalist with proven success in delivering content for multi-channel campaigns
  • Experience of creating communications for large, complex and technological change programmes
  • Experience of using evidence and research to influence and inform communications approach
  • Experience in positively managing internal and external client relationships in a business to business environment
  • Experience of working with and advising those in senior positions in the organisation
  • Experience with working in a team environment , achieving results through others and developing and motivating team members
