Support Worker / Regional Fostering Children & Young People Participation Advisor with experience of working in a Fostering setting with substantial experience of working with children and young people is required to join our Midlands and North Team and Partner Agencies at Five Rivers Child Care.

As a successful candidate you should ideally have a sound knowledge of a range of legislation that supports human rights of children and young people along with knowledge of participation and engagement theories which are relevant to the role.

 

SALARY: £19,000 - £23,500 pro rata + car allowance + Generous Benefits (See Below)

LOCATION: Candidates can be based in any of our Midlands or North offices:

JOB OVERVIEW

Due to expansion an excellent opportunity is now available for a Support Worker / Regional Fostering Children & Young People Participation Advisor with experience of working in a Fostering setting with substantial experience of working with children and young people.

As the Support Worker / Regional Fostering Children & Young People Participation Advisor you will be able to build effective relationships and secure improved outcomes for the children. You will have excellent practices in supporting and participating in meaningful influencing decision making when it comes to the children and young people, whilst working with effective professionals from a diverse range of organisations.

Working as the Support Worker / Regional Fostering Children & Young People Participation Advisor you will use your own initiative using the policies and procedures put into practice, you will have the ability to empower and engage with children and young people, to help them voice and contribute to decisions which will in the long term be a positive change for their future.

The ideal candidate should ideally have a sound knowledge of a range of legislation that supports human rights of children and young people along with knowledge of participation and engagement theories which are relevant to the role. A good working knowledge of child protection policies and process along with a good understanding of issues that can affect children and young people and the barriers to their effective participation and engagement.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Support Worker / Regional Fostering Children & Young People Participation Advisor, you will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Ideally have a sound knowledge of a range of legislation that supports human rights of children and young people along with knowledge of participation and engagement theories which are relevant to the role
  • We are looking for someone who will always be thinking of the child, ensuring they are at the forefront of all decisions
  • Must be able to work as a team member to achieve best outcomes for the children
  • Able to communicate with children and adults
  • Experience of working in the fostering sector with children/young people is essential
  • A full driving licence is required
