SALARY: £17,443 – £18,469 per annum

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant that has a full, clean driving licence, some basic administrative skills and is comfortable around dogs.
Working as the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant you will be driving and supporting one of the Company’s visually impaired Engagement Officers on a day-to-day basis.
This job will involve driving the Engagement Officer daily to appointments around Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas.
As the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant you will also look after the guide dog whilst the Engagement Officer is attending meetings and assist in the dog’s overall well-being, check and read emails, take notes in meetings and carry out basic administrative skills.

Your duties and responsibilities as the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant:
- To drive the engagement officer from Stevenage (and back) to other Guide Dog sites and external venues. This includes locating addresses, planning routes and the timing of journeys
- Providing sighted assistance, orientation and guiding to the Engagement Officer
- Note take and read documentation to the Engagement Officer as required by them
- Assist with basic data input on Microsoft Office programmes
- Provide exercise and environment enrichment for the Engagement Officer’s guide dog

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- To hold a full, clean UK driving license and have your own car
- Achievement of GCSE passes at C, or equivalent in Maths and English
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Evidence of dealing with confidential issues sensitively and with integrity
- Excellent communication skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK
