Lloyd's are seeking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to provide project management support in the delivery of the projects supporting the Corporation and the Market’s key priorities as part of the Corporation Change Portfolio. This could take the form of design, development and/or implementation of new or enhanced services, tools, standards and applications.

The purpose of the TMO team is to optimise the decision making and delivery of the entire change portfolio and maximise return on investment within risk appetite and to be a high performing team adding value Corporation-wide through the delivery of strategically-aligned-best-in-class Project and Programme Management Activities

 

Principal Accountabilities required of the Senior Project Manager

  • Planning and delivering of the required deliverables within a project or workstreams of a project, and within the scope, agreed budget and timescales, to include  project plan creation and change communication
  • Ownership  over  the  objective  setting,  planning,  scoping  and  set  up  of  the  projects  i.e.  project governance structure, budget and resources and the ongoing management of this
  • Managing risks and issues, including the development of contingency plans, and escalating where appropriate
  • Provision of project management guidance and  stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Effectively  communicate  and  manage  project  expectations  to  project  sponsors,  team  members, and other external/internal key stakeholders through various mediums
  • Provision  of  regular  reporting  highlighting  any  relevant  dependencies  and  risks  to  project sponsor/other relevant stakeholders
  • Maintaining an awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact
  • Adopting and applying appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards as directed by the PMO
  • Responsibility  for  resolving  all  issues/conflicts  throughout  the  project  and  escalating  where appropriate

 

Skills and Knowledge required of the Senior Project Manager

  • Experience of working within the financial services, insurance or consultancy sectors is preferred
  • Project  management experience and project delivery in a business change context
  • Experience in effectively managing organisations and people in a change environment
  • Proven ability to deal with  insurance industry professionals is preferred  
  • Knowledge  and  experience  of  Lloyd’s  in  both  the  London  Market  and  Lloyd’s  internationally (preferred but not essential)
  • Project management experience or experience of change •Experience or knowledge of project management methodologies e.g. PRINCE, Agile etc.
  • Understanding of the Lloyd’s and London insurance market would be beneficial
  • Project management and planning experience
  • Co-ordination and planning skills - needs to be able to pull the "many strands together"
  • Relationship/stakeholder management with the ability to deliver concise, influential and targeted communication
  • Ability to think strategically as well as being able to focus on the detail
