Job Description

Multi-Site Retail Manager who has excellent team leadership skills with recent branch management experience gained within a fashion store or experience travelling to and supporting multiple shops within an assigned area is required for a chain of Community Charity Shops.

These are not your normal Charity Shops. They have the look and feel of any well-presented vintage & retro stores. And better still, the stores are raising much needed funds for the Charity, so they can keep on doing the work they were set up for.

 

SALARY: £23,657 - £24,672 per annum + Overtime (for Sunday working at 1.66/time plus two thirds)

LOCATION: You will provide management support to any one of the Charity’s 22 shops within a 25 mile radius of Windsor

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

HOURS: 40 hours per week – to include Saturday and Sunday on rota

 

PLEASE NOTE: This role involves regular travel to any store within a 25 mile radius of Windsor, Berkshire. Access to own vehicle and current driving licence with insurance cover for “Business Use” is required.

This role involves some manual handling, lifting, carrying, sorting, displaying and presenting stock showing items and the store at their optimum.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Multi-Site Retail Manager who has excellent team leadership skills with recent branch management experience gained within a fashion store or experience travelling to and supporting multiple shops within an assigned area.

As the Multi-Site Retail Manager, you will travel and provide ‘hands on’ management support to any of the Charity’s 22 shops, within a 25 mile radius of Windsor, which will involve supporting the day-to-day running of the shop. This will involve being responsible for the supervision of all shop staff and store volunteers and will assist with meeting and exceeding sales targets and providing the highest quality of customer service.

Working as the Multi-Site Retail Manager you will be have strong communication skills, and along with delivering excellent customer service, will have an enthusiastic attitude and demonstrate a willingness to role model the core values and behaviours of the business.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Multi-Site Retail Manager:

  • Meet budgeted sales targets and maximise profit
  • Follow agreed cash handling procedures
  • Take responsibility for daily banking when required
  • Support stocktakes
  • Create a welcoming, happy and professional atmosphere for customers and the shop team
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, window displays and housekeeping
  • Provide leadership to motivate the shop team to deliver targets and excellent customer service
  • Act as accountable key holder for the shop
  • Engage with and support activities of the wider organisation e.g. fundraising, marketing, and volunteering
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of the Charity in order that customers, staff and volunteer queries can be answered correctly
  • Some manual handling - lifting, carrying and sorting stock over 2 floors
  • Use of steaming machine to steam clothes
  • Proportion of day spent working on a computer, inputting information

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Recent retail experience in a managerial or multi-site role
  • Experience of working in a fashion environment with brand knowledge
  • Experience of managing staff, including recruitment, setting objectives, developing staff and managing performance
  • Experience of cash handling
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety obligations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Willingness and ability to demonstrate commitment to the Charity’s values
  • Access to own vehicle and current driving licence with insurance cover for “Business Use”

Desirable

  • Experience of recruiting and managing volunteers within a charity environment
  • Experience of working for a charity
  • Ability to get results and willingly tackle demanding tasks
  • Ability to organise time effectively, creating work schedules, prioritising workload and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to use and work with IT systems e.g. Stock IT system including Word, Excel and email
