Residential Child Care Support Worker who is caring, compassionate, understanding and has a passion for supporting and working with children is required to join our fantastic team at Five Rivers Child Care.

 

SALARY: £18,250 - £21,556 per annum + £50 per sleep in + Generous Benefits

LOCATION: Taunton, Somerset

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 39 hours per week – candidates will be expected to be flexible and understand that we are open all year round.  You will be expected to go on holiday with the children and work over Christmas to make their memories special.

JOB OVERVIEW

Here at Five Rivers Child Care we are looking for Residential Childcare Support Workers to come and join our family home in Taunton, Somerset, a 3 bedded home for children aged 7 to 12 years. The home is located just outside Taunton, Somerset and is set in the countryside with idyllic views and large garden grounds.  Our high-quality residential environments around the country provide a sense of calm, care and belonging to our children and young people.

As the Residential Child Care Support Worker you will assist the children/young person in understanding their own emotions and articulating their feelings, building a culture of mutual respect within the home by offering a rationale for their actions, and by apologising when mistakes are made. We do this by developing our teams understanding of psychological dynamics through training and regular clinical consolations with a psychologist, who will explore practice within the home.

Each child has a unique therapeutic, clinical and educational need. At Five Rivers Child Care we don’t subscribe to ‘one model fits all’, we create a bespoke, integrated package for each child which pulls on the full range of services and resources and specialisms which is applied in a joined-up and tailored way.

We are looking for positive Residential Child Care Support Workers who are willing to open their hearts, emotionally invest and prioritise our children’s needs. You will need to be adaptable in all you do whilst showing respect to the children/young people and your colleagues.

Your integrity plays a big part in this role and along with support from others we will teach and train you to be excellent in all you do.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

You will have the following:

  • Must have a Full UK Driving license
  • Must have a passion to work with children
  • Be aged 19 or over 
  • QCF Level 3 in Children and Young people workforce or Health & Social Care is desirable. If you do not have this qualification, we will put you through it
  • Be able to commit to the role 365 days a year on a rota basis
