Residential Child Care Support Worker who is caring, compassionate, understanding and has a passion for supporting and working with children is required to join our fantastic team at Five Rivers Child Care.

 

SALARY: £18,250 - £21,556 per annum + £36 per sleep in + Generous Benefits

JOB OVERVIEW

Here at Five Rivers Child Care we are looking for Residential Childcare Support Workers to come and join Fountain House in Leeds, which is rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted and has been specifically designed to meet the needs of children aged between 7 and 11. Fountain House benefits from the addition of a DfE registered school onsite, offering Key Stage 2 and preparation for a smooth transition to Key Stage 3 in a mainstream setting.

The culture in our homes is one of positivity, energy, optimism and motivation.  As the Residential Childcare Support Worker you will not only be responsible for the basic care and protection of our children but also serve as a positive role model, inspiring the children in all aspects of their life.

The Residential Childcare Support Worker will build an appropriate relationship and show resilience with focus to motive the need for education and enjoy community-based activities.

We are looking for positive people who are resilient and not easily shocked as you will be consistent and supportive, loving and guiding our children unconditionally while being faced with some high-level challenging behaviour, including physical and verbal aggression.

As the Residential Childcare Support Worker you will need to be able to bounce back from tough times with optimism and understanding and to keep smiling whatever the weather. Be strong minded, capable, have a secure understanding of what makes a positive parent, open minded and not afraid to get involved. We need someone who can learn quickly, is willing to go above and beyond, is fun and outgoing but above all is warm, loving, caring and forgiving.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As a successful candidate you will have the following:

  • Must have a Full UK Driving license
  • Good written and IT skills
  • Able to communicate with children, colleagues and external customers
  • Able to actively listen to others
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Be calm in situations of crisis and follow the lead of a shift leader
  • Must have a passion for working with children
  • QCF Level 3 / 4 in Children and Young people is desirable. If you do not have either of these qualifications we will put you through them
  • Be committed to ongoing professional development and achieve the Level 4 diploma in Children and Young people
