Residential Child Care Support Worker who is caring, compassionate, understanding and has a passion for supporting and working with children is required to join our fantastic team at Five Rivers Child Care.


SALARY: £21,395 - £24,401 per annum + £36 per sleep in + Generous Benefits (See Below)

Here at Five Rivers Child Care we are looking for Residential Childcare Support Workers to come and join our family at our brand New home in Ilford, Essex.

Working as the Residential Childcare Support Worker you will help care for children and young people between 7 – 12 years.

We specialise in children & young people who have suffered severe neglect and abuse, have attachment disorders or have suffered childhood trauma. They may have associated syndromes and mental health diagnosis for which they require medication and clinical oversight or support. 

Our aim is to ensure our children are safe, well parented and raised in a happy home where they can flourish and learn and give them back the childhood they deserve. We create positive memories through laughter, fun and love to help reduce the challenging behaviours through teaching better ways to cope and our practitioners are experienced in working with children who have been traumatised by their past and understand the impact that parental rejection has on emotional developmental and needs.

We are looking for positive people who are resilient and not easily shocked as you will be required to be consistent and support, love and guide our children unconditionally while being faced with some high-level challenging behaviour including physical and verbal aggression. You will need to be able to bounce back from tough times with optimism and understanding and to keep smiling whatever the weather.

If you are strong and open minded, capable, have a secure understanding of what makes a positive parent. not afraid to get involved. If you are willing to go above and beyond, is fun and outgoing but above all is warm, loving, caring, and forgiving then we would love to hear from you.



As the Residential Child Care Support Worker, you will have the following:

  • Must have a Full Driving license
  • Able to communicate with children, colleagues and external customers
  • Able to actively listen to others
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Be calm in situations of crisis and follow the lead of a shift leader
  • Must have a passion for working with children
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young people or in Health and Social Care is desirable. If you do not have either of these qualifications, we can help with this!!
  • Flexibility and understanding that we are open all year round, you will be expected to go on holiday with the children and work over Christmas to make their memories special
