Relief Retail Store Supervisor with experience of delivering excellent customer service in a retail setting, preferably with previous supervisory or team leader experience is required to provide cover when needed to a number of Community Charity Shops that sells the best quality, pre-loved stock.

This is a temporary Bank Staff position providing cover a number of stores.

 

SALARY: £8.91 per Hour + Overtime (for Sunday working at 1.66/time plus two thirds)

LOCATION: Candidates should live within a 25 Mile Radius of Maidenhead

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Relief Retail Store Supervisor with experience of delivering excellent customer service in a retail setting, preferably with previous supervisory or team leader experience is required to provide cover to a number of stores within the area.

As the Relief Retail Store Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision of store volunteers and will assist with the day to day management of the shop, meeting and exceeding sales targets and providing the highest quality of customer service.

Working as the Relief Retail Store Supervisor you will be customer and commercially focussed, creative and sales driven and able to work with a close-knit friendly team.  You will have recent retail experience and ideally will have some experience of supervising a team of people.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Relief Retail Store Supervisor:

  • Support the achievement of budgeted sales targets and maximise profit
  • Follow agreed cash handling procedures
  • Take responsibility for daily banking when required
  • Support stocktakes
  • Create a welcoming, happy and professional atmosphere for customers and the shop team
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, window displays and housekeeping
  • Support the shop manager to motivate the shop team to deliver targets and excellent customer service
  • Operate the agreed stock rotation system, regularly updating stock
  • Act as accountable key holder for the shop
  • Travel to retail meetings and training sessions as required
  • Engage with and support activities of the wider organisation e.g. fundraising, marketing, and volunteering
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of the Charity in order that customers, staff and volunteer queries can be answered correctly
  • Deputise for the shop management team if required
  • Some manual handling - lifting, carrying and sorting stock over 2 floors
  • Use of steaming machine to steam clothes
  • Proportion of day spent working on a computer, inputting information

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Recent retail experience
  • Experience of cash handling
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety obligations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Willingness and ability to demonstrate commitment to the Charity’s values

 

Desirable

  • Experience in a supervisory or team leader role
  • Experience of working in a fashion environment with brand knowledge
  • Experience of recruiting and managing volunteers within a charity environment
  • Ability to get results and willingly tackle demanding tasks
  • Ability to organise time effectively, creating work schedules, prioritising workload and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to use and work with IT systems e.g. Stock IT system including Word, Excel and email
  • Current driving licence with insurance cover for “Business Use” is desirable
