Job Description

Children and Young Persons Project Support Worker who has experience of working directly with groups of children and young people in an educational setting with good presentation, communication, administrative and organisational skills is required for a well-established charity based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.

This is a fantastic role for someone who is passionate about domestic abuse prevention.

The position will require presenting to groups of children and young people, in addition to training freelancers, holding workshops and 1-1 work.

 

SALARY: £20,253 pro rata (per annum based on WTE)   

LOCATION: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, East Midlands (travel across Nottinghamshire will be required)

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Fixed-Term Contract until July 2021 (Term Time Only)

WORKING HOURS: 22.5 Hours per Week

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Children and Young Persons Project Support Worker who has experience of working directly with groups of children and young people in an educational setting with good presentation, communication, administrative and organisational skills.

Working as the Children and Young Persons Project Support Worker you will deliver and support the charity’s Healthy Relationships and Domestic Abuse Awareness Programmes and Projects with children and young people.

As the Children and Young Persons Project Support Worker you will be responsible for the delivery of the projects in schools and communities, alongside supporting the team with establishing and developing relationships. This role will also include nurturing a team of freelance facilitators, delivering twilight training or briefings to professionals as well as the preparation and development of sessions and projects.

The successful candidate will be joining the charity during an exciting period of growth and will be able to play a role in shaping the future direction of healthy relationships prevention and education.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Children and Young Persons Project Support Worker include:

  • Work with the Head of Service to develop and implement a review of the Children and Young People strategy
  • Deliver prevention programmes and sessions in primary and secondary schools and targeted groups
  • Deliver induction training to freelancers
  • Deliver briefings to professionals to introduce them to the Children and Young People projects and resources for children and young people
  • Allocate and book all facilitators
  • Coordinate facilitator meetings and enrichment days
  • Support volunteers
  • Collect and collate monitoring data
  • Deliver presentations about projects

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of working directly with groups of children and young people in an educational setting
  • Facilitating groups and communicating information in learning environments e.g. training, workshops, 1-1 work etc.
  • Ability to develop respectful relationships with team members, freelancers and external facilitators
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Able to plan, organise and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of using IT and Microsoft Office
  • Happy and able to travel across Nottinghamshire and sometimes further a field
