JOB DETAILS:

Procurement Manager with strong public sector purchasing experience and good working knowledge of public sector contract regulations is required for the Big Lottery Fund based in Birmingham, West Midlands.

 

SALARY: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum + Generous Benefits  

LOCATION: Birmingham, West Midlands

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Procurement Manager with strong public sector purchasing experience and good working knowledge of public sector contract regulations.

Working as the Procurement Manager you will join our Birmingham based Procurement team which is part of the Legal Services team in the Finance and Corporate Services Directorate.

As the Procurement Manager, you will work as part of a team, led by a Head of Procurement and comprised of other Procurement Managers and a Procurement Analyst that responds to instructions that are received from across all of our offices in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for working with colleagues across the business in order to assist with their procurement needs which includes consulting, tendering, spend control, analysis of categories of spend, consolidation of contract portfolios and similar.

You will ensure that colleagues across the business are adhering to procurement policies and procedures as well as any other relevant Fund policies. You will build long term relationships with your client base which is primarily internal.

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for someone who has a wealth of experience in public procurement and is passionate about making a difference to the Directorates we service who in turn support the communities we work with.

You will have:

  • Sound procurement skills in a public sector environment to include good working knowledge of the Public Contracts Regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence to operate in a wide range of situations
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision
  • Sound IT skills
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Confidence to use good judgement, take initiative and challenge when appropriate

Although Birmingham based, there will be some travel required in order to attend business partnering meetings with key clients across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
