Procurement Assistant / Junior Buyer who has previous experience with transactional purchasing within a Procurement Team that has excellent administrative and organisational skills with knowledge of Contractual Agreements, Budget Controls and Purchase Orders is required by Guide Dogs.

 

SALARY: £21,568 - £22,838 pro rata

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Procurement Assistant / Junior Buyer who has previous experience with transactional purchasing within a Procurement Team that has excellent administrative and organisational skills with knowledge of Contractual Agreements, Budget Controls and Purchase Orders

The procurement team play a pivotal role in ensuring every pound donated to the charity is spent in the most effective and efficient way. As the Procurement Assistant / Junior Buyer you will report to the Procurement Officer and be responsible for the provision of transactional purchasing support to the organisation, as well as the sourcing and purchasing of all low value non-catalogue purchasing requests.

As the Procurement Assistant / Junior Buyer you will also be responsible for supporting all third-party suppliers through the low value purchasing process including but not limited to, registration, invoice processing, tax queries and training, and need to ensure the needs of suppliers are met by maintaining and developing high-level proactive relationships.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Procurement Assistant / Junior Buyer:

  • Receive and manage low level Non-catalogue purchasing requests for the Organisation from initial set up through to invoicing and archive
  • Management and use of the Online E-Tendering and evaluation to ensure best value for Guide Dogs money is achieved for low level spend
  • Liaise with prompt response and support times for suppliers to provide accurate, friendly and concise advice and training for all their Web3 portal queries
  • Liaise with internal users to provide support and advice for all their purchasing requirements
  • Investigate anomalies with supplier invoices and credit notes to ensure accurate processing of payments
  • Support Business Partners and Head of Procurement to add catalogues onto the Web 3 system and as and when required for other ad hoc purchasing support

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience having worked in a procurement team environment on transactional purchasing provision
  • Good knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Suite all applications
  • Experience working on a P2P system.
  • Knowledge of contractual arrangements, budget controls, Purchase Order and Goods receipting and invoicing
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict timescales
  • Low level transactional purchasing experience is required
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
