Job Description

Operations Manager with excellent team management, organisational, communication and project management skills are required for a Building Completion Company based in London.

Any experience managing projects within the building / construction industry (organising labour / trades people, materials, property access etc.) would be highly desirable.

 

SALARY: Starting salary £35,000 per annum with OTE of £45,000

LOCATION: London and surrounding area

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Operations Manager with excellent team management, organisational, communication and project management skills.

Working as the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of all sites on behalf of the company. This will include setting up jobs, regular site visits and final handover on given time scales. You will monitor and control all aspects of the project on site, carrying out any training for new members of staff to ensure they are able to carry out the job they are employed to do.

As the Operations Manager you will negotiate with clients, spot potential additional works and resolve any issues that arise on a daily/monthly basis. You will liaise with each team leader to ensure all site paperwork, health and safety, progress reports, daily site diaries etc are kept up to date.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Operations Manager will include:

  • Organising Trades People / Labour, Equipment, Materials and Access required for each project to run to a set project budgets
  • Estimating new jobs then reporting back to the sales team to compile quotes as and when required
  • Ensure all team leaders have a full stock of materials and equipment on their van and that the van is kept in a clean condition to represent the company
  • Ensuring all site employees adhere to all procedures set out in the employees handbook
  • Input on recruitment of new members of staff, both office and site

Site Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Management team and customer on site representative frequently
  • Ensure all the team members are informed of where the project is located, start dates induction times and site working conditions
  • Ensure all key members of the team are informed on the scope of works set out from the client, detailing the project specifics type of works i.e.: painting, blasting or industrial coatings
  • Monitoring the quality of works on site
  • Ensure all members of the site team conduct themselves in a manor deemed appropriate by the company mission statement
  • Ensure all projects have a sample area signed off to satisfaction at the start of the job, this will aid to negate future discrepancies with quality colour match
  • Ensure all works are signed off appropriately

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a similar Operations Manager/Supervisory role
  • Experience within the building/construction industry would be beneficial
  • Excellent planning, leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • IT Literate
