Job Description

Transport and Logistics Franchise Network National Operations Manager with operational, strategic and leadership skills is required by a well-established and successful Company based in Guildford, Surrey.

 

SALARY: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + Benefits

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS: You will need Operational Leadership and development experience with an understanding of business finance. You will also need legal / contractual, people management experience with a great analytical ability.

As a successful candidate, you will have a high level of IT systems knowledge together with a good understanding of the overnight carrier network services. You will also have excellent numeracy, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide excellent operational leadership communication, but not least you will want to develop the Company’s operations to a world class standard within an Industry that is growing rapidly due to the continuing rise in Ecommerce.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Transport and Logistics Franchise Network National Operations Manager with operational, strategic and leadership skills.

Working as the Transport and Logistics Franchise Network National Operations Manager you will review and implement the Company’s operational strategy, lead and manage the franchise network to deliver efficiency and ensure the network model is rolled out to all partners / franchisees.

As the Transport and Logistics Franchise Network National Operations Manager you will be a strong leader having IT systems development and implementation experience, operational management, development and leadership skills. You will know what it takes to operate a complex business with a clear strategy, vision and planning, coaching and developing the Home Depot and the Franchise Network, ensuring superior operational excellence to network partners / franchisees and customers with attractive margins with a clear eye for detail.   

Initially you will lead the operations for the Home Depot and following this success you will then lead the Network Operations for a franchise network delivering the 3 key services: Fulfilment; Same Day and Overnight Courier Services across the UK, ensuring each franchisee implements what is required to deliver excellence across the business to facilitate growth and profits for the organisation                   

This Leadership role is in the growing Logistics industry supporting the expanding Ecommerce sector, and to lead the delivery of the Operational model to the whole Franchise Network.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Transport and Logistics Franchise Network National Operations Manager:

  • Ensure the correct resourcing of the network operational management
  • Liaise with the Home Depot and the Franchise Network
  • Manage the Franchise Network Operational efficiency through systems and supplier management
  • Ensure Franchise Network operational compliance
  • Deliver to business OKR and KPI

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Operational Management and Leadership experience essential with a proven ability in running an operationally complex growing business
  • Database and customer systems knowledge, intrinsic knowledge of the carriers
  • Procurement / Contract skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Lean management experience
  • Ensures training and development is core to success
  • Ideally has management qualifications to degree level (or equivalent)
