Management Accountant / Qualified Financial Reporting Accountant who has significant experience in Management Accounting with the ability to work in an environment of change and to tight deadlines. Alongside this, experience of modelling, data manipulation and reporting is required by Guide Dogs based in Reading, Berkshire.

 

SALARY: up to £52,000 per annum pro rata

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 3 month Fixed Term Contract (October to December 2020)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Management Accountant / Qualified Financial Reporting Accountant who has significant experience in Management Accounting with the ability to work in an environment of change and to tight deadlines. Alongside this, you will have experience of modelling, data manipulation and reporting.

The Management Accountant / Qualified Financial Reporting Accountant helps people with sight loss to live the life they choose by being responsible for the definition, preparation and presentation of all financial and performance data relating to the budget, forecasts and monthly management accounts.

As a Management Accountant / Qualified Financial Reporting Accountant you will build, maintain and develop models including the cost to serve model as well as developing ad hoc management insight in accordance with the strategic and managerial needs of Guide Dogs.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Management Accountant / Qualified Financial Reporting Accountant will include:

  • Work with FPA Manager to ensure relevant timeline is communicated, understood, and monitor progress escalating issues to the Head of Finance and Planning
  • Develop reporting that re-enforces the link between operational targets and deliverables and financial targets and deliverables
  • Develop and communicate all pro-forma documents to be completed to capture and report information
  • Develop, prepare, review and communicate all summary information
  • Identify opportunities for simplifying and automating the budget and forecasting process, providing clear specifications to enable improvements to be delivered
  • Develop and maintain cost of service models
  • Establish and manage a small finance project team, acting as the finance expert
  • Improve the timeliness and accuracy of the monthly reporting pack
  • Own and update models to allocate financial data for year-end statutory reporting by activity type
  • Prepare presentation explaining methodology and results
  • Complete competitor analysis and present findings to Executive Directors

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified finance professional
  • Management Accounting
  • Model development and reporting
  • Data population of models
  • Experience of working under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Advanced Excel
  • Understanding the principles of cost allocation
  • Benchmarking and competitor analysis techniques
  • Project appraisals
  • Project Management
  • Demonstrable ability to manage time and priorities
  • Able to build highly effective and collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers
  • An ability to think laterally and understand the broader organisational issues
  • Diagnostic and advisory skills - the ability to analyse a complex problem/situation, think creatively and advise on a range of options
  • Logical and attention to detail
  • Agresso and BI knowledge is desirable
  • Developing productivity KPI’s is desirable
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
