JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Building Facilities Lead Maintenance Engineer who has solid facility management experience with good team leadership, organisational and time-management skills.

Working as a Building Facilities Lead Maintenance Engineer you will maintain the venue in strict compliance with the applicable statutory and non-statutory provisions and undertake or monitor planned and reactive maintenance activities to keep the venue’s plant and equipment in a serviceable condition.

As a Building Facilities Lead Maintenance Engineer you will be required to have a good knowledge of Health and safety Legislations and maintain and support the development of the Venue’s Planned Preventative Maintenance Programme.

 

DUTIES

Your role as Building Facilities Lead Maintenance Engineer will include:

  • To undertake or monitor planned and reactive maintenance activities to keep the venue’s plant and equipment in a serviceable condition
  • To support the development of the Venue’s Planned Preventative Maintenance Programme
  • To monitor the activities of contractors employed to maintain the following systems and equipment:
    • Fire installation (including fixed and portable appliances)
    • Electrical installation(s)
    • Gas installations and ancillaries (including catering appliances)
    • Water installation (including hot & cold Systems)
    • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) installations and ancillaries lifts
    • Pressure vessels
    • Kitchen Extract Systems
    • Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS)
  • To maintain the following Venue documentation:
    • Operating and Maintenance Manuals
    • Maintenance Hazard and Risk Assessment Folder
    • Contractor Service Sheets/Maintenance Records
    • Inspection and Test Certification (including Thorough Examination Reports)
  • To populate the Shield Yourself (web-based) Compliance Centre with the following documentation:
    • Contractor Service Sheets/Maintenance Records
    • Inspection and Test Certification (including Thorough Examination Reports)
    • To maintain the plant in accordance with the Corporate Planned Preventative Maintenance Programme
    • To complete all Maintenance Log Requests (MLR’s) in a timely manner (which may include contractor support)
    • The procurement and maintenance of stock levels as detailed in the Venue’s Maintenance Manual
    • Liaise with the Venue Director in procuring the services of contractors and overseeing their activities
    • Undertaking minor repairs and decoration as directed by the Venue Director

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Skills:

  • To gain and maintain a thorough understanding of the Venue’s Maintenance Manual and Emergency and Recovery Plan
  • Facility Maintenance Experience
  • To have a good understanding of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems
  • To have a good understanding of Health and Safety Legislation
  • Understands the limitations of acquired skills and knows when to seek advice
  • To be able to use own initiative and work autonomously (within the agreed parameters set by the Venue Director)
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • To be able to communicate effectively at all business levels (a good understanding of technical English will be necessary)
  • To be able to work with deadlines in a fast, dynamic environment
  • Methodical and attentive to detail
  • A high level of personal integrity
  • A strong work ethic with a passion for exceeding expectations

Desired Skills:

  • To have an appropriate electrical or mechanical services qualification (ONC / BTEC or equivalent)
  • Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Qualification
  • City & Guilds 2382-12 (17th Edition)
  • City & Guilds 2392-10 (Initial Inspection and Test)
  • City & Guilds 2394 (Inspection and Test)
  • City & Guilds 2394 / 2395 (Self Certification)
