We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic IT Test Analyst / Application Software Tester for our busy and growing on-site IT Team.

 

SALARY: up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits    

LOCATION: Hybrid working model where most roles can be undertaken through a combination of home and office working. The office is based in Rattray, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland

JOB OVERVIEW

As an IT Test Analyst / Application Software Tester, the candidate should have testing experience with the ambition to acquire additional skills in both manual and automated test environments. As an IT Test Analyst / Application Software Tester will play a part in providing a full testing service to the business, working with and supporting teams across the business to ensure the successful delivery of effective, reliable, low-risk solutions.

Our IT Test Analyst / Application Software Tester salaries are very much dependent on experience but range from £20,000 to £35,000 per annum, and we offer a hybrid working model where most roles can be undertaken through a combination of home and office working.

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

As an IT Test Analyst / Application Software Tester you will have the following:

  • Understanding of SDLC (waterfall & agile development methodologies)
  • Experience of working with JIRA / X-ray or similar web-based testing tools
  • Overall understanding of defect management / resolution
  • Attention to detail with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
  • Able to use initiative and work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Experience of front and back-end testing, with an awareness of RDBMS and SQL Scripting
  • Exposure to concepts of test environment management
  • Demonstrate professional courtesy in all written and verbal communication
  • Good problem-solving skills and the tenacity to stay with an issue until it is resolved
  • Provide peer review of test artifacts produced by other test engineers
  • Attention to detail
  • Cope well under pressure and with uncertainty/ambiguity
  • Practical Experience in Test Automation frameworks and systems advantageous
  • Knowledge of automated test tools such as Katalon, Selenium advantageous
  • Good undergraduate degree (or equivalent), ideally with postgraduate qualifications, degree discipline should be in a highly numerate subject
  • Experience of working in a demanding environment with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines
  • High level of numeracy, ideally with data-analysis experience
  • Advanced Excel user essential. We would particularly like to meet candidates with experience of Idea and/or SQL
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution
