We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Change Manager to play a pivotal role in several technical / infrastructure projects taking place.

As the IT Change Manager, you join the Big Lottery Fund at an exciting time; the organisation is relaunching as The National Lottery Community Fund in January 2019. The IT department is going through a parallel transformation to emerge in January 2019 with a new vision, strategy and purpose as strategic enabler to the organisation. We have exciting plans for 2019, which include a whole organisation device replacement programme, migration to Windows 10 and Office 2016, extend our Azure and Office 365 services, introduce SharePoint, augment our Intelligent Communications systems, upgrade most of the core business applications, and more.

Working as the IT Change Manager you’ll be a subject matter expert, and lead on, all aspects related to IT Change Management and Control and report to the Senior Head (Systems).

Change Management is a well-established, critical process within the IT department. The IT Change Manager is responsible for ensuring all user and service impacting change is managed in an effective way, to ensure business critical and key systems and services are delivered in a manner that benefits the organisation and reduces the risk of negative impact of change.

Working closely with colleagues in the IT Finance and Administration team for support, the IT Change Manager ensures that the process of change is clearly defined and appropriate to the organisation and department and is responsible for the overall change management process.

  • Champions change management within and outside of the IT department, in an appropriate and effective way, that ensures change management is an effective contributor to change, not a barrier.
  • Works in close partnership with IT Finance and Administration Manager, to ensure the change management process is adequately resourced and operates effectively
  • Authorises and approves minor/low impact change
  • Coordinates, conducts and chairs meetings of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to discuss higher risk changes
  • Has the authority to implement or reject a change
  • Authors, maintains and publishes documentation related to the processes of IT change management
  • Ensures that all activities designed to support the implementation of changes are delivered in accordance with published IT change standards
  • Responsible for the preparation, creation and management of Change Summary Sheets that document all requests for change
  • Major contributor to delivery of projects into BAU services

We are the largest community funder in the UK – we’re proud to award money raised by National Lottery players to communities across the UK. Last year alone we gave out over half a billion pounds (£508.5 million) of National Lottery funding to over 11,000 community projects across the UK, enabling even more people and communities to bring their ideas and ambitions to life.

At the heart of everything we do is the belief that when people are in the lead, communities thrive. National Lottery funding is open to everyone and we’re privileged to be able to work with the smallest of grassroots groups right up to large UK-wide charities.

We are looking for diverse and talented people who share our values and are passionate about funding great ideas that matter to communities and make a difference to people’s lives.

In addition to the expectations of everyone in IT, the following knowledge, skills and experience are specific to this role:

  • “Expert” knowledge of all matters related to IT Change Management
  • Knowledge and experience of utilising at least, but preferably more than, one best practice service management framework, to develop a value-adding approach to the delivery of IT services which is pragmatic and appropriate to the organisation.
  • Working towards or holder of expert-level, industry-recognised qualifications in Change Management

We seek to develop our staff and offer a wide range of personal development opportunities.

We offer a wide range of generous benefits including:

  • Generous annual leave and company pension scheme
  • Flexible working to support staff with their work/life balance, taking into account things such as caring responsibilities, worship and attendance at religious festivals
  • Enhanced paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave
  • Season ticket and cycle to work loans
  • Paid volunteering leave

We are an equal opportunities employer and celebrate the diversity of our staff. We positively encourage applications from individuals regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity. We also offer opportunities for part-time employment. We welcome applicants who can speak a second language.
