Internal Communications Manager that has strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to set strategies based on audience analysis is required for the Big Lottery Fund.

 

SALARY: £29,450 - £37,275 per annum + Excellent Benefits

LOCATION: Birmingham, West Midlands  

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week

JOB OVERVIEW

We want our colleagues in the Big Lottery Fund to be informed and excited about the future of the organisation and the great work we do, so we are looking for an experienced specialist Internal Communications Manager to help us communicate and engage employees across the whole organisation.

We need someone who is passionate about internal communications to work with the Head of Internal Communications to deliver an ambitious strategy that connects colleagues across the UK.

Working as the Internal Communications Manager, your responsibilities will include the delivery of our strategic content strategy, development of our communication channels, planning activities and events, collaborating on content and features (commissioning, editing and writing) and working with colleagues in all of our directorates to help colleagues connect with our organisational purpose. You also understand how to improve processes through effective evaluation of communications.

As the Internal Communications Manager, you will be organised, have strong writing skills, be creative and proactive in identifying new opportunities and developments that can be used by the organisation to help engage staff.

The Big Lottery Fund (the Fund) distributes around £650 million of National Lottery Funding across the UK each year supporting health, educational, environmental, and charitable projects.

We are fortunate to be able to support around 12,000 projects each year with grants ranging from as little as £500 to multi million pound programmes. By funding good causes, the Fund makes a real difference to local communities all over England.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Internal Communications Manager, you’ll need to demonstrate your skills and experience in these areas:

  • Internal communications thinking and experience, with the ability to set strategies based on audience analysis and understanding of communication and engagement channels
  • Experience of planning, managing and delivering projects and key organisation-wide events
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, the ability to develop good relationships and communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation
  • Excellent written skills and the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
  • Experience of enterprise social networks, intranets and other digital internal communication best practice
  • Critical thinking in evaluation, understanding what has worked and what hasn’t, and the ability to identify creative solutions to improve our area of work
  • Understanding and experience of the role culture plays in an organisation and the influence that communication and engagement can play within that
