HR Director with excellent team management and leadership skills is required for the Big Lottery Fund based in Birmingham, West Midlands.

 

SALARY: circa. £70,000 annum plus Generous Benefits

JOB OVERVIEW

We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Director also known in our organisation as a People Director.

The People / HR Director position is key within the Big Lottery Fund, leading and overseeing its Human Resource and people development functions, while contributing at a strategic level to leadership of the organisation.

Success in this role as the People / HR Director requires a creative and strategically strong Human Resource professional, with empathic leadership capabilities. Experience, gravitas and entrepreneurial flair are also needed to support the organisation in delivering and developing its six-year strategic vision, People in the Lead.

The Fund is a non-departmental public body, operating at arm’s length from our sponsor department, the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. An understanding of the voluntary, charity and public sectors is helpful but not essential’.

Strong candidates are likely to be in a senior position such as working as a People Manager, Head of Human Resources etc. and will have demonstrated their ability to deliver a strategic Human Resource service that is efficient and pragmatic, with a strong interest in developing a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the communities we work with.

As the People / HR Director you will report to the Finance Director and lead a team of 20, this is an opportunity to build upon the current success of the team in delivering an excellent service to around 800 colleagues.

You will be working closely with the Chief Executive and fellow senior management. Assertiveness, discretion and diplomacy are vital, along with excellent oral and written communication skills. Relevant academic and industry qualifications are also essential.
