We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Health Care Assistant / Carer / Support Worker with a compassionate and respectful nature to assist individuals, in the activities of daily life, according to their needs and resources.

Working as a Health Care Assistant / Carer / Support Worker you will be a full and active member of the care team and assist the senior care staff in providing a high standard of client care, carrying out some duties unaided at the discretion of the senior staff and under their supervision.

As a Health Care Assistant / Carer / Support Worker you will show respect for the individual’s dignity and personality, in the delivery of care, and in both verbal and non-verbal communications and observe and inform the Senior in charge, in the case of any alteration of the individuals needs, or state of health- whether physical, emotional, psychological or social.

DUTIES

Your role as Health Care Assistant / Carer / Support Worker will include:

  • Assist individuals, in the activities of daily life, according to their needs and resources
  • Know and respect the rights of individuals who use the service, showing respect for the individual’s dignity and personality, in the delivery of care, and in both verbal and non-verbal communication
  • To carry out instructions from senior staff accurately, professionally and promptly
  • Observe and inform the Senior in charge, in the case of any alteration of the individuals needs, or state of health, whether physical, emotional, psychological or social
  • Record appropriate information and observations in the individuals care plan file
  • Help to provide physical and mental stimulation for individual service users
  • To be fully conversant with correct moving and handling techniques, use of handling aids and to be personally responsible for attending regular (at least annually) training in this respect
  • To be fully conversant with the fire procedures and use of equipment and to be personally responsible for ensuring attendance of regular (at least annually) fire lectures and drills
  • To be conversant with health and safety policies and to report any accidents or unusual occurrences to clients, staff or self, promptly to the Home Manager or Deputy
  • To be conversant with all policies and procedures as laid down by the Company
  • To attend courses and in-house training as and when it is offered
  • To ensure safe keeping of clients’ clothing and property
  • To maintain the confidentiality of clients in all respects
  • To be fully conversant with the clients’ care plans, notes and assessments
  • To have the ability to write accurate daily reports in the clients’ notes
  • To wear your uniform in full whilst on duty
  • To maintain a happy, healthy working relationship which will be conducive to a professional atmosphere
  • To adhere to the policy of not accepting gifts from clients without the permission of the Home Manager
  • To adhere to the Homes’ no smoking policy
