Job Description

Regional Health and Safety Manager with a professional qualification in Health & Safety and excellent line management/supervisory skills with the ability to coordinate a team is required for a Charity.

 

SALARY: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum + Benefits      

LOCATION: Location is flexible, candidates can be located in Peterborough, Cambridge or Ipswich

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Regional Health and Safety Manager with a professional qualification in Health & Safety and excellent line management/supervisory skills with the ability to coordinate a team.

As the Regional Health and Safety Manager you will work in conjunction with the Compliance Officers, advising staff on all safety, health and welfare matters and will ensure that the Charity complies with its statutory obligations and property/building related safety legislation or safety regulations.

Working as the Regional Health and Safety Manager you will manage and implement the H&S Policy for the whole organisation.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Regional Health and Safety Manager will include:

  • Line Managing the H&S Compliance roles in the East & West locations
  • Overall responsibility and compliance of the groups H&S, in conjunction with the Compliance Officers, making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow safety protocols
  • Undertaking the development and management of the Fire Risk assessments
  • Carrying out all risk assessments and special assessments for the sites as required by the business, in line with the ‘Risk Assessment Practices’
  • Implementing practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial of promoting health and safety and safe working practices in the workplace
  • Production of H&S reports for the Board of Trustees and other committees
  • Managing the Health & Safety committee meetings
  • Carrying out investigations into all serious incidents, accidents and near-miss incidents

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous Management experience working in Health & Safety
  • A professional qualification in Health & Safety
  • Line management skills and ability to co-ordinate a team
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and agreed objectives
  • Able to produce accurate and timely work
  • Work on own initiative
  • Computer literate including the ability to work with Microsoft office
