Job Description

General Manager / Operations Management with operational management and leadership experience and the ability to motivate a multi-skilled team is required for a Global Company based in Knostrop, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

 

SALARY: Competitive + Company Car + Benefits

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hour per week – Monday to Friday (flexibility is required)

LOCATION: Knostrop, Leeds, West Yorkshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

As the General Manager / Operations Management, you will be fully accountable for all operational activities on site, ensuring that the Company continues to meet and exceed demanding KPIs and service levels in relation to Plant, Transportation and Administration functions.

Working as the General Manager / Operations Management you will enjoy full budgetary responsibility and with Site Plant and Service Managers reporting-in, your brief will focus on promoting a continuous improvement culture and customer-first ethos, along with a lean thinking outlook, whilst ensuring compliance with all environmental and legislative requirements.

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to direct and motivate a multi-skilled team, along with a good degree of business know-how
  • Experience of budgetary management
  • A solid grasp of the logistics industry, including up to date knowledge of current transport regulations, linked to a thorough understanding of hazardous waste related legislation
  • Knowledge of High temperature Furness would be advantageous
  • Well-developed customer service and communication skills
  • Positive mind-set and results driven approach
  • Any formal management qualifications and/or NVQ’s in waste treatment would also be advantageous, but are by no means essential
  • Good knowledge of IT especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
