WORKING HOURS: usually 8am to 5pm

However as with any agricultural business the company is dictated by the weather, therefore during their high seasons you will be required to be flexible with the seasonality of the business, which means during the busy period you could be required to work more than the core hours but this would be balanced with working less hours during our quieter season.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Depot Assistant (Administrator / Customer Service Administrative Assistant) with proven office administration and/or customer service experience, excellent communication skills and a high attention to detail.

Working as the Depot Assistant (Administrator / Customer Service Administrative Assistant) it is essential you have proven office /administration / customer service experience as well as being able to demonstrate you can use computer systems effectively.

As the Depot Assistant (Administrator / Customer Service Administrative Assistant) you will ideally have knowledge of product storage solutions. This position would suit anyone with a passion for Agriculture.  If you also have people management experience, this is desirable as you may have to step in for the Depot Supervisor, but training will be provided.

DUTIES

This role will be working with the Kelso Depot Team to ensure the company meets their high professional standards of distribution and safe operating procedures.  As the Depot Assistant (Administrator / Customer Service Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for the administration of the office.

  • Working in line with company procedures to provide a great level of service for customers
  • You will be required to work alongside the Depot Team to maintain the smooth operation of the depot on a daily basis
  • You will support the Depot Team with organising workload and communications to ensure everyone is working to the highest standard
  • You will also play an important role in promoting effective communication is taking place locally within your team and from the wider business
  • Build strong and long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders across the internal and external businesses
  • Working to uphold the highest of internal and external standards of compliance including but not limited to BASIS, Water and Fire Regulations, Health and Safety Executive, and Ministry of Transport inspections, Working Time Regulations
  • On occasion and to support this small depot team, you may be required to work in the warehouse or attend customer premises as cover
  • Ensure the security of company cash, stock and property

 

On occasion there may be a requirement to travel to different locations to attend training or meetings or support other depots

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven office administration and/or customer service experience is essential
  • Ideally you will have a knowledge of product storage solutions and a passion for agriculture
  • Ability to use computer systems effectively
  • Great communication skills
  • High attention to detail whilst working under pressure
  • A ‘can-do’ approach
  • Full clean UK driving licence

Core hours are usually 8am to 5pm.
