Business Manager / Strategic Data, Insight & Evaluation Analyst with a proven track record of complex impact assessments and a deep understanding of current volunteering and impact assessment within the third sector, as well as project management including Agile frameworks, is required by Guide Dogs.

Candidates must have a relevant business management qualification or equivalent and an active membership of relevant professional networks, e.g. CIPD, The Association of Volunteer Managers (AVM), Network of National Volunteer Involving Associations (NNVIA) and relevant Data and Evaluation membership bodies.

 

SALARY: £37,464 - £45,492 per annum

LOCATION: For this role there will be a mix of office and remote/homebased working.  Preference for office location (excluding London) will be discussed at interview stage

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Fixed Term 12 Month Contract

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Business Manager / Strategic Data, Insight & Evaluation Analyst with a proven track record of complex impact assessments and a deep understanding of current volunteering and impact assessment within the third sector, as well as project management including Agile frameworks.

Working as the Business Manager / Strategic Data, Insight & Evaluation Analyst you will develop and deliver volunteering data, analytics and evaluation programmes to enable effective delivery of services and income generation.

As the Business Manager / Strategic Data, Insight & Evaluation Analyst, through leadership, you will ensure that the organisation has robust systems and processes in place to actively provide high quality insights, analytics, and monitoring of our volunteer population alongside a strategic focus on our volunteer managers/key contacts.  This will act as a significant influence in planning and decision-making of strategic volunteering activities in line with the Volunteering Strategy – Inspiring Connections.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Business Manager / Strategic Data, Insight & Evaluation Analyst will include:

  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and insights to programmes and functions, translating Guide Dogs strategy into delivery
  • Strategic management of volunteer research and evaluation
  • Enable individuals throughout directorates to access and understand customer and market data insights and trends to make informed business planning and critical decisions
  • Critical SME providing vision and direction for volunteering system requirements
  • Support migration and mapping data quality and evaluation report development
  • Responsible for clear, robust and safe working practices to ensure data compliance and appropriate access to volunteer data and systems
  • Responsible for specialist advice and support to Senior Managers for organisational programme and business planning and volunteering process development
  • Generate national and local projected growth and supply planning for volunteering numbers and infrastructure with clear modelling and rationales
  • Oversee and monitor volunteering forecasts and active targets for products, process and recruitment
  • Ensure systems and processes predict and adapt to new and developing business needs
  • Ensure a clear evaluation and review structure to Volunteering policy and procedure
  • Lead on volunteering compliance, risk and data management ensuring understanding and good practice is in place to remain legally compliant, minimising risk to the organisation
  • SME for complex procedural and data matters
  • Responsible for presentation and translation of data into an understandable business format

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Relevant business management qualification or equivalent
  • Active membership of relevant professional networks e.g. CIPD, The Association of Volunteer Managers (AVM), Network of National Volunteer Involving Associations (NNVIA) and relevant Data and Evaluation membership bodies
  • Proven track record of complex impact assessments
  • Demonstrable experience of setting standards, creating systems of oversight and monitoring and systems development as subject matter expert and/or product owner
  • Experience of leading and managing staff/teams in the charitable sector
  • Project management including Agile frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation
  • Deep understanding of current volunteering and impact assessment within the third sector
  • Use of relationship databases to support and develop volunteering pathways
  • Proven experience participating and presenting at senior management and project board meetings
  • Demonstrable experience in reporting strategically on emerging trends and tactically of current status against targets and activities
  • Ability to define evaluation requirements and implement effective frameworks and models
  • Experience in building highly effective and collaborative relationships with senior managers
  • Strategic thinker with ability to understand broad organisational and societal issues and operate at a strategic level leading and delivering change at an organisational level
  • Sound diagnostic and advisory skills, including the proven ability to analyse and interpret a complex workbook
