Accounts Payable Manager who has good team leadership and management skills with experience working within a busy Finance Team is required to join Guide Dogs in Reading, Berkshire.

Ideally you will be a part-qualified Accountant with a high level of financial knowledge either gained through practical experience and / or professional training.

 

SALARY: £27,472 to £34,807 per annum

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager who has good team leadership and management skills with experience working within a busy Finance Team

Working as the Accounts Payable Manager you will join our finance team that are central to our organisation, ensuring money flows in order to enable us to continue providing the services that allow our service users to live the life they choose.

As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for the accuracy of processing into the various finance systems, ensuring procedures are complied with and that suppliers, employees and volunteers are paid in accordance with their respective terms and conditions. You will also have management responsibility for Accounts Payable Team.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Manager:

  • Manage and coach the AP Team to enhance performance
  • Assist the Financial Controller to maintain up to date work practices and procedures
  • Ensure all invoices, expenses and petty cash are authorised and processed in a timely and accurate basis
  • Manage weekly payment runs, payroll, foreign currency, and ad hoc payments, ensuring payments are accurate and that cashflow is optimised
  • Manage the reconciliation of the relevant balance sheet control accounts, including purchase ledger control account, suspense account, and corporate credit card accounts
  • Support projects impacting the Procure to Pay process to ensure implications are addressed and the Accounts Payable team have the necessary guidelines, training and knowledge to implement process changes effectively
  • Prepare weekly management statistical reporting

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

You will have an in depth understanding of the principal functions of an Accounts Payable department, combined with an awareness of related financial accounting requirements. You will have experience of designing and developing processes and process management, and also recent experience in a team leader/equivalent role is essential, preferably in an Accounts Payable environment.
