Registered Nurses required by our Client, a national charity that provides essential holiday breaks with care for physically disabled adults and their carers in a registered facility based in Southampton.

We require Registered Nurses, and will consider Band 5 or 6.

Working as a Registered Nurse in this holiday setting you will care for guests with a broad range of disabilities and medical conditions, ensuring their holiday stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Your duties as the Registered Nurse within the Nursing Team will be wide ranging and will include:

• To deliver a high standard of professional nursing care, including the promotion of privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times;

• Liaise with the Guests own GP or medical advisors and/or Centre Doctor in the event of any problems or queries relating to the Guest;

• Responsible for storing, administering and ordering all drugs and medicines, including medical equipment;

• Keeping accurate and thorough records of all Guests on a daily basis;

• Liaise with the Chef in relation the Guests special dietary requirements;

• When on night duty, assist care staff and volunteers in helping guests to bed. Carry out regular night checks on Guests as per the care plan, to ensure they are comfortable and safe;

• To carry out pre assessment calls and identify all care requirements.

Ideal candidates for these Registered Nurse vacancies will have working knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2002 and the National Minimum Standards. As the Nurse you will also maintain professional NMC registration, according to the requirements as specified by the registration body.

All Nurses will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week. This will include unsociable hours such as evenings and weekends. The centre is also open for Christmas and New Year.
