Java Developer required by our International Finance / Banking Client based in Bournemouth, Dorset.

Previous experience working as a Java Developer within the Banking / Finance sector desirable, although not essential as our Client will consider all industry backgrounds.

The successful Java Developer can expect to receive a very competitive basic salary plus an excellent benefits package.

Technical Skills: J2EE, Core Java, SP, Struts, Spring, Java Servlets, Ansi SQL, Oracle, Basic XML, Java Scripts, Agile

Desirable Technical Skills: Websphere, MQSI, MAF/MULE, NRL, Object Oriented Architecture, Financial markets messaging standards e.g. SWIFT (15022 and 20022), File Transfer Methodologies, Quality Centre, UML

Working as a Java Developer you will work on a wide range of new and existing Banking / Finance based software applications.

As the Java Developer your duties and responsibilities will involve the following:

• Play an active role in Design, Development and Testing;

• Work closely with the business to establish and understand the business requirements;

• Produce design documentation with the support of application developers;

• Ensure standards and business requirements are met through peer and code reviews;

• On occasion manage Java based projects and team lead;

• Mentor new Java Developers to the team.

Ideal Java Developers will have a solid foundation in Java based Programming and Testing, with excellent problem solving skills. As the Java Developer you will also have an understanding of application design principles and standards as well as an understanding of different systems development lifecycles and methodologies.
